How I think about systems architecture

Systems architecture is the practice of designing how software, data, and decisions move through a business. Most businesses don't have a systems problem because they're short on tools — they have one because the tools don't talk to each other. People become the glue between platforms. Invoices get re-typed. Reports get built by hand every week. The glue is expensive and it doesn't scale.

My work starts with a map of the current-state flows — what gets entered where, what triggers what, where the decisions live, and where the delay is. From that map I design a target architecture: which steps collapse into an AI agent, which become automated pipelines, where the audit trail needs to live, and which handoffs stay human. The goal isn't to automate everything. It's to take the volume work off your team so the judgement work gets the attention it deserves.

I build on Claude, n8n, Python, and the platforms you already run on. Systems get deployed into your infrastructure, not mine. You own the code, the prompts, the logs, and the runbooks. Every pipeline is readable — a team member can trace a decision from trigger to outcome without asking me. When something upstream changes, your team can adapt it, or I can.

Engagements typically start with one high-leverage workflow — the one eating the most hours — and expand from there. You see value in the first month, not the first year. No six-month rollouts, no platform lock-in, no shelfware.

/ How it runs

Four weeks, kickoff to live.

01
Day 0

Book a call

Thirty minutes, no slides. We talk about where your team is spending hours it shouldn't, and whether AI actually fixes it. Straight answer either way.

02
Week 1

Scope & audit

I map your workflows, your stack, and the bottlenecks. You get a written brief — what's buildable, what the numbers look like, what the tradeoffs are.

03
Weeks 2–3

Build

Purpose-built systems wired into your existing tools. No rip-and-replace. Daily progress. You see it working before it ships.

04
Week 4

Deploy

Live in your environment. Documentation handed over. Savings start from week one — not week twelve.

05
Included

Train the team

Hands-on walkthrough with the people using it day-to-day. Runbooks, SOPs, what to do when something breaks. Part of every architecture rollout — not an upsell.

06
Ongoing

Support

Optional ongoing support for monitoring, iteration, and new workflows. No lock-in. You own the code, the data, the outcomes — all of it.
